Students gathered outside Town Court, expecting to lend Lambert support. But his hearing on misdemeanor sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child had been moved to Monday. He faces up to 25 years in prison on charges of first-degree criminal sexual act. That case will proceed later this month in Albany County Court.

Lambert allegedly had sex in a boys restroom at the school with a 14-year-old girl. In a second case, he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old during a "sleep-over" at her house.

But friends say Lambert is the victim, the target of young women who chose him because "he was different, new to the school," said Kenyatta Hyman, a sophomore.

They also said they have been prohibited from wearing T-shirts that say "Free German" and were told to turn off belt-buckle signs that have the same slogan.

A parent at the gathering, Karen Lansing, said she and her husband moved to Bethlehem many years ago because they were looking for quality schools.
