A Port Orchard man who took police on a chase in a stolen car in November - and is also wanted in Kelso to face charges that he robbed a Dennys restaurant at knifepoint - has received a 14-month sentence for the Kitsap offense.
Joshua Tucker Calkins, 23, was sentenced Dec. 27 for the Nov. 20 theft of a Ford Ranger truck from Vlist Motors in Port Orchard, and evading police, leading Bremerton officers on a chase along Perry Avenue.
Once Calkins sentence is served, however, he will be made available by corrections officers to Cowlitz County, where he is wanted in the armed robbery of a Dennys in Kelso, said Scott Wilson, Kitsap Sheriffs spokesman.
Calkins was implicated in the robbery early this month when a DNA test of saliva on the perpetrators straw came back to Kelso police, matching Calkins to the crime.
A Bremerton couple was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly attacking each other, and then taking out their frustrations on police, according to reports.
Officers went to the 100 block of Marion Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. and found a man, 31, staggering outside a house with blood on his hands arguing with a woman, also 31, who appeared to have blood and vomit on her shirt. Officers believe they both were intoxicated.
Once she was placed in cuffs, the man became violent once more with the officer and the two wrestled to the ground. Another officer who was watching the woman attempted to help, but the woman fled the scene and the officer pursued her.
The woman was on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic violence charge, third-degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest. The man was arrested in suspicion of third-degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest, reports said.
